pretty flats

Don't you just love pretty flats?! I've spent this evening trying to pack for an upcoming trip to Ollie's grandparents. I say trying because I have had quite a lot of trouble trying to choose what I will want to wear. Especially as im not sure what the weather is going to be like. Picking shoes has been difficult. In the end I settled on the hot pink ones (top left). But here were some of my choices..

fresh air

Here are some of my favourite snaps from our trip out yesterday. I would highly recommend Mount Edgcumbe to anyone in the Devon/Cornwall area.

my new baby

So far i'm very happy with my Canon :). Haven't really had the chance to take her out properly yet as i've been at work. We are planning on visiting a place called Mt. Edgcumbe tomorrow. Its a lovely landscape garden just across the river into Cornwall. My favourite place here.. can't wait!

I shall do a proper post then but first here is a little snap of some additions to my owl family. Ollie knows how much I love owls so got me several cute little owl related things for my birthday. I already had the blue (mint) lip balm but he got me the others. Now they are a little family. And super yummy in strawberry & orange chocolate too!

my precious!

I'm feeling a tad bit guilty. Because I've spent a rather large amount of money on something for myself. And I do not have a great deal of money in the first place. But in my defence.. I have been saving for months (which was sooo difficult) and I put all my birthday money towards it. Lets just hope the gas bill isn't too large...

The guilt however is entirely outshined by my excitement... that on Tuesday this baby will be mine.. all mine!!

Oh how long I've waited for you my friend..

I'm going to have so much fun with this beauty. Going away at the end of March to His Grandparents.. they live out in the country. I shall be taking my National Trust members card and eagerly snapping up some photos of period architecture and pretty gardens. Bliss.

the music of the night

I haven't posted in a while.. the reason being i've been quite ill! Still not feeling great but now on the mend thankfully. Luckily I had Thursday & Friday booked off work due to it being my birthday on Thursday, so I had some recuperation time. Unfortunately I didnt get to do what I had planned on my birthday (a nice day trip into Cornwall!) but I did get to do something rather special yesterday (Friday)...

At roughly the end of October last year I almost squealed in delight when I looked in the local paper... The Phantom of the Opera theatre production was to be on tour... where I live! I immediately bought two tickets. They were pretty pricey but I had to go see it. I have always wanted to but living down in Plymouth.. its a bit far to London. When I lived at my mum's house it was only about 50 mins from London on the train and therefore theatre trips happened fairly often. Now it is a rare treat!

Anyway! Last night was the night. And OH MY GOSH was it worth waiting for!! It was fantastic. I'm a massive fan of the story anyway.. I've loved Andrew Lloyd Webber's music for it for years. I got goosebumps so many times throughout (and admittedly almost shed a few tears at points!). It was a perfect way to cheer myself up after having a pretty miserable week and an ill birthday. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

appreciation

So i've been stuck deciding what to post about for a few days. I admit that sometimes I just don't have the energy (& enthusiasm) to turn on my laptop after a day at work and usually end up falling asleep on the sofa at about 9:30 (tragic). I have several things pending on my to do list that are going to have to wait until the weekend! But earlier I was reading the latest post from Glossary '101 Things I Like' and it made me sit back, relax and think about things I should be appreciating more. Here are a few:

Where I Live:

Dartmoor, my next door neighbour.. and the Sound, with Cornwall across the river.

The return of these:

The return of nicer weather means that I can venture out again. Go exploring. Like this:

I can't wait for summer :)
