oh butterfly

I was feeling a bit down earlier as its the last day of my eBay auction for selling one of my russian doll softies didnt go.

So I thought I would wear something special that I don't usually get the chance to today to cheer myself up. When this happens I naturally go for the coat you can kinda see in the photo below. Its a gorgeous dusty pink Calvin Klein mac I found in TkMaxx once and I love it. Next I was looking for accessories. I do enjoy a pretty brooch. And pretty butterfly brooch is even better. Especially when found on eBay for next to nothing!

I love the mother of pearl wings. Perfect addition to any scarf or collar

Surprisingly the other day the weather was lovely. It felt so good to see sunshine again. And it lifted my mood even more when, strolling through the park on the way home, I saw these lovelies sprouting out..

Spring will soon be upon us!

The other day this arrived in the post..

Its a vintage postcard I got from eBay. Im not sure why but it called to me. I love the elegant script on the back.. and how its written in another language so I have no idea what it says. I like to think its a nice message.

And this is the front..

little russians

Thought I would show you what i've been making! These little ladies are my latest favourites.. I have made several for myself and thought I would have a crack at trying to sell them on eBay.

Here they are before stuffing

And here is one of the finished ladies!

hoot hoot

So, I thought i would make a post showing just how much I love owls and all the cute little owl related things you can get (that I have at least!)

A gorgeous card given to me by my boyfriends best mate for Christmas. I  adore it, im going to keep it forever!

This is a little owl canvas that I made, using old curtain fabric samples and some beads.

My favourite cushion Archibald (red) and his wife Matila, who's insides are microwaveable for cuddles in winter ;)

This is a cute little lip balm I got for Christmas!

Gorgeous mug, perfect for drinking milk out of (I dont like tea or coffee) and a little wooden figure

A painting I did a few years ago, bit rough but I still like it

And finally a little light up owl..

...here he is sat in the dark!

Hope you love owls as much as I do x

Hey hope you had a great Valentines day. Mine was lovely.. pancakes for breakfast, with flowers and a gorgeous card. He had already given me my present a week ago (he can't keep things secret at all!), as had I. Chose not to go anywhere in the end as the weather wasn't the best, so the day was spent relaxing at home and enjoying each others company - usually im at work all week! I even got some time to do some crafty things :) x

How cute is this card?! I LOVE bunnies!

Anyway, I took some old perfume bottles of his and decided to glam them up a bit. They were grey and boring and 'manly looking'. so I thought... ribbons and lace! This is the result.. looks like I am in need of some of my perfume too!

I also made these tea light holders.. can't wait for it to be dark so I can see how they look ;)

getting creative

Yesterday was spent lost in a world of ribbons, embellishments, lace and my glue gun. Many burnt fingertips later I finally got round to repairing some things i'd broken and making some new ones.

Here is a glimpse of what i was using and got up to.

I love little bows and ribbons and everything cute and minature. They are often the perfect finishing touch to something. I am always on the lookout for more, cutting them off labels etc.

I added some ribbon and lace trimming to the brown wooden heart box. Ive had that for a while (also purchased from the Range) and have been meaning to decorate it but have never known how. The large purple ribbon came from a box of chocolates I was given at Christmas and fits perfectly <3.

Also Pansys are one of my favourite flowers. I love the colours, and i love sketching them. Watercolours and pen.

And these little guys are fridge magnets that ive made out of little glass stones I found lying around. They were so much fun to make! Now I need a new metal display board to put them on because the fridge is getting full up.

Weekend at last? Brilliant. I always have a bit of a shock when it comes to Saturday. When i've finally dragged myself out of bed after a lovely lie in, showered and then sat down in front of the mirror it is only then that I notice things like how my eyebrows now resemble two caterpillars and the shadows produced by 5 days of waking up at unholy hours.

Today however I decided to put some effort in. I just cannot bring myself to for work but today I was feeling expecially awake.. partly to do with having a whole 6 days in a row off work now. Anyway, I have never been able to master the art of false eyelashes.. until now. This morning was spent wrestling with a pair that came free in a magazine.. and perhaps with some success. Also today calls for my favourite hand bag. What do you think?

Anyway enough of that. I wanted to show you this;

I picked up this butterfly dish for £3.99 from the Range, and I am in love with it! The perfect place to hold my favourite jewellery, hair clips etc. Looks lovely on my dressing table with some doilies and my favourite perfume <3.

Wednesdays suck

Eurgh. Had a horrible day at work today. Unfortunately due to the nature of my job we sometimes run late.. into my lunch time. Today we were running SO late that I didnt get a lunch break at all! Well and truly shattered now. But in a much better mood after getting home and reading some lovely comments left on my blog :). I wasn't really expecting anyone to have read it so far, but thanks!!

I went into town yesterday and had a bit of a shopping spree.. I say shopping spree.. I just bought lots of fabric and a new coat! I loooove my new coat. Absolute bargain at £10 as well! Don't you just love it when they start bringing in Sring/Summer stuff, and all the winter stuff is discounted but its still cold enough to wear. I shall have to get a picture with me in it.. its so soft :)

Also purchased this cute little jug thing from the PDSA shop. Im a sucker for pretty chinawear, and for animals so it was a match made in heaven.

I adore pretty little pots for storing things in. & Glass jars.

Now to put something in them :)

Spoilt for choice

Having just moved into my own flat (eek!) a month ago.. I still have no idea where to put these cute little hooks. Or what to hang on them. They were very much an impulse buy on eBay when I was egetting a bit excited about moving... eBay is a bit of an addiction of mine.

chocolate kisses

I went into my local CoOp the other day, and was very excited to see the return of these.. in mini form! They were so cute I had to buy some even though it is nowhere near Easter yet. I had them sitting next to my laptop on the desk for about a week..

Lets just say there were three of them. I feel so guilty now >.<

So this is new

First post ever! Not really sure how to start.. or indeed if anyone will read this. Hello though reader :). I regularly check a few blogs, but i'm not really sure how to use this website yet so we shall see how it goes. Thought i would share these cute little ladies I made with the world though. They don't have names yet. Nothing has seemed right. What do you think?

I may end up making hundreds of these, and line them all up in a row. They'd look so cute. You may have guessed by this point that I love owls ;-). I found the tutorial on the internet somewhere, and I cannot for the life of me remember where. Need to do some searching for that i think. x
